What is GAMMAKED?
GAMMAKED is a sucrose-free, 10% IG solution for the treatment of CIDP, PI, and ITP
GAMMAKED is a purified, sterile, ready-to-use 10% solution of human immunoglobulins (IG).1
- Immunoglobulins are proteins obtained from human plasma and contain antibodies. Antibodies help protect us against the bacteria and viruses that cause infections.2
GAMMAKED is an injectable IG used as a “replacement” therapy for the treatment of primary humoral immunodeficiency disorders (PI).1
- People with PI do not have enough functioning antibodies to fight infections.2
GAMMAKED is also used in the treatment of some autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. These are chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). ITP is also known as primary immune thrombocytopenia.
GAMMAKED is made from plasma collected in the US3
GAMMAKED is made using plasma obtained from human blood. The plasma is collected from people who donate their blood at FDA-licensed centers in the US.
- Each donor is carefully screened, and each donation is tested to ensure it meets the requirements to use in GAMMAKED.
Since GAMMAKED is made from human plasma, there is a risk the plasma transmits infectious disease agents, such as viruses, the Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease agents (vCJD, CJD), or other unknown disease agents.
- No cases of transmission of viral diseases, vCJD, or CJD have ever been identified for GAMMAKED.
